Zanaflex is a muscle relaxant and it isused to relax certain muscles in your body. It relieves the spasms and increased muscle tone due to medical problems such as multiple sclerosis or spinal injury. This drug can be also taken for other problems. For further information, consult your physician.
How Taken
Zanaflex is produced in tablets for oral use. The usual dose is two or three times a day. Read carefully the directions on your prescription label and consult your doctor about any part that you find unclear. You should take Zanaflex the way it is prescribed. You should not take bigger or smaller doses or take it more frequently than instructed.
Warnings/Precautions
Before starting treatment with Zanaflex, you must inform your physician in case you have kidney disease, liver disease, low blood pressure or you using medications to treat high blood pressure or using birth control pills. Missed Dose
If you are taking several doses each day and you miss a dose, take it as soon as you notice and take any remaining doses for that day at evenly spaced intervals. However, if you remember a missed dose if it is too close to the time of your next scheduled dose, just forget about the missed dose. You should not take two doses at a time in order to catch up.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects reactions are: upset stomach, dizziness, and vomiting, tingling sensation in the arms, legs, hands, and feet, increased muscle spasms, dry mouth. In case you observe any of the listed symptoms, contact your doctor immediately. There can appear also: yellowing of the skin or eyes, unexplained flu-like symptoms. Consult your doctor.
Storage
Keep this medication in its original container, tightly closed, and away from children. Store it at normal room temperature and prevent from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Get rid of the drug if it is expired or no longer used. Discuss with your doctor the proper disposal of your medication.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose, find instant medical help. Symptoms of a Zanaflex overdose are not well known but may include unconsciousness and irregular breathing.
